Food Donations Please. Food Banks have been struggling due to reduced donations as concern about coronavirus spreads. Facilities are being planned for food donation so that needed items can go to people in need in the South Brent area (currently covered by the Ivybridge Food bank). Donations of money are urgently needed, in particular to build up a fund to purchase food for those who are, or become, financially very vulnerable. Donations can be made via the South Brent & District Caring website –http://sbadc.org.uk/.
Non-perishable foods and other useful items are urgently required to help those in need. e.g. Soup, beans or spaghetti in sauce, pulses, tomato or pasta sauce, tinned meat/fish; potatoes/instant mash, pasta, rice; cereal, tinned rice pudding/custard; tea, coffee, UHT or dried milk, fruit juice; sugar, biscuits, treats; vegetables, fruit; basic toiletries; dried food for dogs/cats. When you’re buying for yourself and family please remember those who may be vulnerable at this time. Drop off points are the Village Shop and the food bank box at the Co-op.
