Community Energy

As we approach the 3rd anniversary of its installation, our wind turbine has generated almost 1100MWh of electricity. The Society's solar panels on the Rec, installed a year later, have generated an additional 21MWh. Together they have saved around 448 tonnes of CO2 that would otherwise have been produced. The Energy Fund has so far distributed grants totalling Β£29,750 to three projects: solar panels for the Old School Centre's School House and for the Village Hall, and towards the installation of energy saving LED lighting in St. Petroc's Parish Church.

Further funds are available this year and we look forward to helping South Brent's community buildings become more energy efficient and less costly to run.

Come and meet us at the Island Trust's Family Day on Saturday 17th September, 2 - 5pm, and share ideas for further energy saving and CO2 reductions in the parish. Joddy Chapman.
